The duplicate content trap
Many businesses create dozens of location pages with the same text and only the city name swapped. These pages offer little value to visitors and may be ignored or treated poorly by search engines.
Make each page genuinely useful
For each area, include information that's actually specific and helpful:
- Common service needs in that area, such as older homes or particular weather issues
- Projects you've completed there, with permission
- Local reviews from customers in that area
- Response times or scheduling details for that area
- Local regulations or permit notes, if relevant and verified
Use AI to organize your knowledge
Give AI your notes about each area and ask it to write a page structure. Add details only you know. If you don't have anything specific to say about an area, it may not need its own page.
Keep it accurate
Verify every local detail. Incorrect information damages trust quickly.
Link pages thoughtfully
Link location pages to relevant service pages and back to your main site. Make navigation easy for visitors.
Prioritize quality
A few strong location pages are better than many thin ones. Start with the areas where you do the most work.
Update regularly
Add new reviews and projects over time to keep pages fresh and useful.
